Republic Day is celebrated in India every year on 26th January in a very Grand Manner in Delhi & other states as well.
It is the day on which the constitution came into force. It is the largest one with 448 Articles prepared by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
Though India became a free Nation on August 15th 1947, It declared itself a sovereign Democratic and Republic State with the adoption of constitution on 26-01-1950.
India is called as a Republic because of its head, President is elected. The representatives are elected by the people who in turn elect the president.
The celebration will begin with President Draupadi Murmu unfolding the National Flag on the recently unveiled Kartavya path formerly known as Rajpath.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Draupadi Murmu and other top leaders will walk along the Kartavya path.
The Indian Army, Indian Navy & Air Force will march alongside the regiments and bands will be performed. This would be followed by the presentation of states displaying their culture and achievements in procession.
Additionally the president of India will distribute Padma Awards to the deserving civilians of the Country. Brave soldiers will be Awarded Param Vir Chakra, Ashok Chakra and Vir Chakra.
Beating the Retreat ceremony is also an essential part of the Republic Day celebrations. The splendid event will take place on January 29 every year and marks the culmination of Republic Day Celebrations.
The Day is declared as a Public Holiday and the events will be telecasted directly in all leading TV channels which will be viewed by millions of Indians in India & Abroad.
Let us recall the glorious sacrifices made by Thousands of Patriots who sacrificed themselves for the Freedom struggle and also building up our Nation to this level.
Sardar Vallabhai patel the iron man needs a special mention for his vital role in unifying our Country after great struggles.
Egypt president Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi will be the chief guest at Republic Day 2023 celebrations.
